As a business coach under Growth Accelerator, Gill Bailey was contracted to coach the Directors and joint owners of a social care business delivering residential care for future growth.
The initial meetings identified the joint vision of the senior managers of the family business and identified the key strengths of the business. This was managers with experience in social and healthcare, finance and HR demonstrating clear values and business acumen. The important factor was to analyse their 3 year plan and to develop themselves and the home managers to lead in their plans for the future.
The result was a clear plan of their shared vision and managers committed to the vision with objects and projects to deliver the first year’s key goals. As part of the 6 day coaching, we had management sessions on culture, HR practice, appraisal, the current year plan reviews, and management one to one coaching for their leadership plans for year 2.
The delivery of a quality service was both a key business strength and a quality demanded by the commissioners of social care and private customers in their region.
The sharing of the vision encouraged a committed management team to lead the delivery and enable the owners to focus on the strategy. The business has plans and commenced the refurbishment of rooms for the quality seeking customers. The business has grown in brand development and strategically, with good HR practices being established and CQC audits under shared leadership during this 8 month period.
