As a business coach under Growth Accelerator, Gill Bailey was contracted to coach the Directors and joint owners of a social care business delivering supported living and residential care for future growth.
The initial meetings identified the joint vision of the owners and identified the key strengths of the business. This was a well respected business couple with a vast level of experience in social and healthcare demonstrating clear values and business ethics. The important factor was to analyse their 3 year plan and to involve their management team in their plans for the future.
The result was a clear plan of their shared vision and managers committed to the vision with objects and projects to deliver the first year’s key goals. As part of the 6 day coaching, we had management sessions on culture, appraisal, the current year plan reviews, and management one to one coaching for their leadership plans for year 2.
The delivery of this service was both a key business strength and service demanded by the commissioners of social care in their region.
The sharing of the vision encouraged a committed management team to lead the delivery and enable the owners to focus on the strategy. The business restructured into two companies to clearly match distinct sector priorities and discussions are taking place with their preferred area authorities. The business has grown financially and strategically, attained the Investors in People award, had a good CQC audit under shared leadership during this 8 month period.
